I was reading the various parts of the switcher code on the train today,
and doing some testing with:

it appears that the very act of Alt-Tabbing is changing the stack
ordering, by causing each window to be momentarily
I'm bumping this up to High again; it breaks 25 years of predictable
(LIFO) stack operation using Alt-tab across all major competitor
operating systems, and all previous Ubuntu releases.
(If it gets set to Medium/Low again, I will accept that judgment and not
change it further).

This is screenshot number 1 showing the various widgets WAY out of
alignment after a few reboots (not all done at once, rebooted a few
times during the past week).

Notice the gap. They're already starting to migrate again...

maverick. I have the same problem, and XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1 solves it.

when you forward the patch please make sure you wrap around the

It is now 31/1/11 , even after all suggested updates have been installed the
problem still exists. I have noted an occasional nvidia logo screen appear
briefly at start up (not often). I have also had the start-up work perfectly at
times.
