You should be able to use the M key to unmute/turn on S/PDIF. If that
doesn't work then there is a deeper problem in the driver somewhere I

Same problem. On screenshoots (i have attached ) you can see that dead
area is vertical and thin. After some actions like compiz windows
switching (alt+tab) the ares disappears.

What about the damage that's already been done to files? This should be
pretty common amongst Ubuntu users who've enabled their home directory
encryption feature.
Mine is. I've upgraded to natty and my dmesg is still full of those

What about the damage that's already been done to files
The damage is temporary and disappears as soon as you unmount the
ecryptfs volume, unless you for some reason read the file and write it
back to disk.
I wrote a script that fixes up git objects broken by this bug:

Indeed, sometimes pulseaudio do not start at login (although it is set
up as one of the startup applications). If I run pulseaudio I can open
the sound preferences, but I cannot change the volume since the only

In this case there is an icons in nautilus panel but if i click on it and
I have a similar issue, not with a dotfile but with command line calls
to xmodmap.
Running 'xmodmap -e remove Lock = Caps_Lock' should disable the caps
lock key.
Under Unity in Natty Narwhal, it does not.
Under Unity on the netbook edition of Maverick Meerkat, it worked.

They were right in the folder you specified. There are actually three
different ones. weather-clear.svg, sunny.svg, and something like stock-
weather-clear.svg

I tried gsettings... and that had no effect, it still won't show in my
system. I ran the gsettings-command in a terminal and it gave no output.
