Seb, this seems to me like cheese itself is simply missing a declared
dependency on gstreamer1.0-clutter. Cheese doesn't work without it, and
installing it fixes the issue.

I've been experiencing with Trusty Tahr and a Lexmark T520 printer,
using either the Lexmark, or generic PCL and PS drivers (PPDs?).
When attempting to print your file, the result is characterised by the

I am able to boot the image and interact with it for less than 30
seconds before the UI and emulator locks and must be closed.

Indicator sound is missing from the panel. Restarting the panel service
doesn't bring it up. Neither does a reboot.
The menu reappeared only after toggling the dconf setting:
gsettings set com.canonical.indicator.sound visible false
gsettings set

you do an entire disk install? Do it say upgrade? If you are able,
recreating the issue would be most interesting.
I would file the bug with ubuntu-bug ubiquity on the system you
installed. It should contain some info about what happened in the
install log.
