I have the same issue. My laptop sometimes turns off suddenly (while
doing something CPU-intensive), and the /var/log/kernl.log have these
messages. I am using Ubuntu 11.10 with the 3.0.0-14-generic kernel,

I have the same problem too. Anything other than each guest pixel
mapping to exactly one host pixel looks bad. There should be a way to
ensure that this is always the case (in fact, perhaps it should be the
default and there should be a command line switch to allow the
possibility of the display

from 11.04. People here are saying they deleted *all* their Firefox
plugins - does one really need to delete plugins which have nothing to
do with flash? Also, as far as I know flashplugin-installer downloads
the actual flash

I'm on Karmic. On Jaunty I could encode videos with ffmpeg that my phone
(which has Symbian S60 5th edition) could play. Those were .mp4 files,

aplay, mplayer, Amarok, etc don't complain, but no sound is heard.
Tried sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-utils restart, rmmoding and modprobing snd-
hda-intel, in
Forgot to add, sound did work after resuming from suspend on the same
laptop with Kubuntu Gutsy. Though Gutsy needed manual installation of a
newer version of ALSA from source to get sound working in the first
place.

Isn't it _essential_ that a user properly ends an ssh session when done,
on a public computer? Otherwise the next user of the computer may get
read and write access to the first user's personal data.

(at least I couldn't find a splash screen module in kcontrol, and it
doesn't appear by default when logging in). So I don't know how this is
applicable to Hardy.
