Am trying to install openbravoERP (it needs postgresql) on Kubuntu 8.4.
Through adept manager, I installed postgresql 8.3.

I too have the problem :(
Even though keyboard shortcut displays icon as if its increasing and
decreasing or muting the volume, nothing exactly happens to the sound
being played from the application (rhythmbox or totem)
I tried adjusting the Volume preference from the system. Surprisingly

Atlast I heard that google toolbar is a causing such a problem. I just

is a difficult bug to resolve due to the inconsistency in reproducing
it. Even in my machine, the bug occurs more frequently at some times

adding to my above comment...
The replacement lid.sh only works for shorter periods of time. When the
lid is closed for longer periods, the screen is not brought back to
life.
The fix is to
1. open the lid
2. walk over to another computer and ssh into the laptop
3. type the following line of
faced the same problem with my dell latitude. sometimes the screen
resumed fine after closing and opening. But it often failed to resume.
(At such times, pressing the power off button and hitting enter will
shut down the system).
