Unfortunately I ran both general updates (which included an update to xorg) and
the fglrx drivers)

For me, it seems it takes forever (5 seconds) to load and show.
But this is only the first one or two times I click it.

Surely those like Shuttleworth can't know about this bug? It is a scandal; Him

I have fglrx installed, but did not think that perhaps the fix works with the

I decided I would try manually removing all files related to 'adium'.
Figuring that if the apt-get process is failing because of an incomplete
script file, then it would never get fixed by itself.

Does that mean I should not use it in Jaunty with Xorg 1.6.0 ?
Also, a subscriber to this bug, Michel, mentioned above that he was able to

I thought i've read reports that with the nobackfill patch, while the delay
is gone, a huge memory leak issue replaces it.

I am experiencing the lag problem which others have mentioned. I've not
left my laptop on for more than a day, so i haven't noticed any memory
leak problem (though, I wasn't looking for it).
Due to to the maximising lag problem, I disabled desktop effects.

I am running Jaunty. And as of 8 Aug 2009, with all updates, fspot
displays similar behaviour to what is described here.
I start the slideshow.
First picture is shown
at the transition for the 2nd picture, first the screen flashes brilliant white
Then the next picture transitions in.

Perhaps I have misunderstood previous posts regarding this issue,
But I thought the xserver-no-backfill was the workaround/fix to remove the 3
second lag on unminimize.
And you say you upgraded to Xorg from xserver-no-backfill.
Do you still have the delay, using Normal or Extra
