Bryce - this exact problem occurs on Macbook in Karmic (beta) with the
X233H on the Nvidia 9400M - also doesn't connect to the projectors in
Millbank in anything greater than 640x480. Same setup works for both on
apples OS.

[i945] I945GM can't support acer X233H
@svaens: Xorg 1.6.0 is fairly close to 1.6.3. You could try applying the
backclear patch to it. I'd say your chances are about 95% that it'll
work.
In my experience the latest drivers don't resolve this issue.

[M76] [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
I am also experiencing this issue on R200 hardware.
In Jaunty, when enabling compositing, the system looks for 3 instances
of texture_from_pixmap in the output from glxinfo. It's there.
On Karmic, there are only 2 instances of this in glxinfo output.
Compositing in KDE is horribly slow, in Gnome
Just to be clear: this is with stock ati drivers from the repos.

The bug against wacom-tools was invalid, and should have been reported
against qt, not wacom-tools.
Anyway, it's fixed in Karmic, with libqtcore 4.5.2 that's in the
repositories (my version is 4.5.2-0ubuntu5), tried with Krita, see
attached screenshot. I don't have a clue if it would be possible
