Sorry, it totally refuses to boot with "nomodeset". In recovery mode, I get as far as the recovery menu, choose "continue", get the message "rc.sysinit." and then it stops. "nomodeset" with the vesa driver used to be a workaround for me, but I haven't used it for a while. Should I test that?
