FWIW, and I'm not certain I'm in the right place, I have a Toshiba
Satellite A55 with i855GM graphics. At one time the "TV out" (s-video)
worked under Ubuntu... up through 10.04 Lucid (and I think 10.10
Maverick as well) but with 11.x (Natty and Oneric) it quit working. I

Ubuntu 11.10 was working fine on my lenovo Y560 laptop, but an upgrade
to 12.04 has left it close to inoperable. Symptoms include:

This bug was partially fixed in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
1.5.99.902-0ubuntu5.1. Most suspend/resume cycles will complete
successfully now. However, about 10-20% of the time the trackpad will
stop working properly. There are two more patches for xserver-xorg-
input-synaptics and one for xorg-ser
Driver does the same for the nvidia GeForce 6100.

I increased the values of Horiz and Vert, is kinda working but every time when
I restart Ubuntu configurations are lost and roll back to default...
PS: I don't have any xorg.conf file to add these values there.

I had just been writing a paper in LibreOffice and reading some PDF
files on other workspaces that I kept switching between in Gnome-Shell,
and it just locked up after some hours of work. I was able to move the
cursor but that's it. Used the magic sysrq + k combo to kill Xorg
