This is the only way i managed to speed up my "Trackpoint" on HP ZBOOK

Hi, the synaptics (libinput also installed) package work well for me in
16.04 (and previous version to 12.04 at least) up to 17.04 on thinkpads
(x2XX to carbon X1). Currently using carbon x1 5th gen. There is however
some form of instability with settings that affects many users including
me.

The "disable keyboard while typing" problem only affects Gnome (default)
for some reason. In Unity (7) on Ubuntu 17.04 everything works
perfectly.

FYI: while trying to get the "disable keyboard while typing" back online
(is set to true in gconf and I'm testing gnome now before 18.04) the
touchpad got disabled for some reason. I only changed one setting in
gconf which should not disable the touchpad on login. Had to reinstall
xserver-xorg-inp
Hi, I got the exact same syslog message and also use a Lenovo ThinkPad
X1 Carbon 5th Gen with Swedish keyboard. However, my trackpoint and
mouse seem to work as expected. I.e., besides the syslog message. Two

I think Sven is right in his assumption that the touchpad freeze is caused by
two syndaemon instances getting out of sync.
On my system I find consistent correlation between touchpad freezing and two
syndaemon instances running.
What puzzles me is why I don't always have two syndaemon instances
Can confirm that this bug is NOT present in 11.10 oneiric LiveCD.
I figured out some way to work around the original bug in Natty LiveCD,
involving turning off TV out interface and configure monitor via cli.
Unfortunately I didn't document the exact process.
