It does rework the gpio handling and initialization (among other things), that
should have positive effect on your issue

Here are some tips that will help triage the issue
* Is the person using "3d" - try reproducing the issue without it
Disable AIGLX in the X server
(Re)move the file (or package providing it)

* Try booting with "nouveau.nofbaccel=0"

I can confirm the problem on Xubuntu 11.10 to. I don't get any signal on the TV
screen with kernel 3.0.0-12
and kernel 3.0.0-13. The s-video port is detected and listed on xrandr. The
refresh rate is given with 30hz, but
is seems to bee wrong for a PAL-TV.
If I use an installed lucid kernel 2.6.
For anyone still experiencing this bug, here is a possible workaround
(thanks to ColdFeetBob for pointing it out)
Modify* /xserver/mi/mieq.c and rebuild xserver
* Increase the "#define QUEUE_SIZE 512" to 1024, 2048 or 4096 [1]
Note that this is *not* a proper fix as you can see in the discussion

11.10. My system is a Dell Latitude D830 with an Intel GM965 graphic
controller.
The s-video port is detected an listed on xrandr. The refresh rate given
with 30hz, but is seems to bee wrong. On the tv-screen
I applied the patch at comment 64 to my Samsung NC210 netbook running 64
bit Ubuntu 11.04 (kernel 2.6.38.11) and after a reboot the touchpad is
recognised (previously it had been detected as a psmouse. Mouse
preferences now has a touchpad tab which allows me to turn off mouse-
clicks on the touchpa
Can anyone respond to this? Is more information required? Please let me
know.

in which case it seems the screen is 'dead' and does not show anything anymore.
