Both Gnome Shell and Unity are loading icons in background threads, so
it's likely a thread-unsafety issue in pixman.

Isn't the issue here that the emulated card has too low video memory
forcing 800x600 when the driver selects the default 24bpp depth?
This is an issue with some very old real hardware too.
I guess X could account for that but due to its architecture every
driver would likely have a separate
reason for that. Do you
see any reason not to do it - other than there exists 13 years old
library specification?
Best regards

Seth, thanks for your extensive feedback regarding the trackstick.
Perceived behavior after patch application is that it's hard to point
exact pixels. It feels like the cursor is too fast no matter how gently
the trackstick is pushed.
Changing the acceleration factor does actually have expected
I already remarked here that trackstick sensitivity becomes broken when this
ALPS patches get applied. While it was an optional package I was okay with it.
However I would disagree about getting the patches obligatorily.
There was no reaction about it, I could speculate that people using
I am still getting stuck buttons sometimes so this has improved but is
not fixed completely.

** Tags added: apport-collected
** Description changed:
To reproduce:
Connect tablet.
Press the first pad button above a terminal.
Moving the cursor now changes selection as if the button was down
although it is up.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease:
Using this driver the track-stick sensitivity is still incorrect and impossible
to tweak. Otherwise perfect on Dell Latitude E6410.
Seth, I'd gladly execute some testing scenarios in order to provide you with
debugging info.
