that I found this thread that helped me. Thank you ralphy.

Hi all,
I'm finally back from all my travels and I saw ralphy has completed the
OS X 3.9.2 build which fixes the display problem.
Thank you ralphy!
Please let me know if there are any further loose ends that need tidying
up.
Cheers,
Nico

A big THANK YOU to bpa and Nico for tracking down the softsqueeze osx
display issue as discussed here and providing detailed build
instructions for creating a java packager release.
And thank YOU for bringing it all together! I can confirm I can read
that display again :-)

I finally tracked down the oracle 10.0.2 jdk for the mac and have
created a 'MacOS softsqueeze 3.9.2 package installer'

includes the oracle 10.0.2 jre.

Thank you for the detailed build instructions.
I've been unable to ascertain the current license requirements for

Hi Ralphy,
Here is some info about the recent build I completed.

So how do we go about this?
You should probably PM ralphy for a way to transfer the file?

Sorry I cant' remmeber. I did a few tweaks and made a 3.9b1 - then I

Cool...
I tried SqueezePlay today.
Can't get it working via ssh tunnelling (my laptop is remote from LMS).

I'm reading the source code now. The classes that emulate the Squeezebox
hardware displays seem to be where the good stuff is:

I've experienced the same for a while now. I decided to use Squeezeplay

This certainly is a player software side problem, as the server side is
mostly shared with SB Classic/Boom/Transporter and has not changed in
many years. I was wondering whether it had to do with

I have found something new which is making me thing it's the player side
(SoftSqueeze). I wrote a program to capture the raw bitmap data coming

But it shows the error as clipping the leading edge of each char and by
the same amount even though font has changed which means error is in
LMS.
What version fo LMS and Perl are you running ?
Here's what I get with the standard_n font.

Not much better.

I've tested Softasqueeze with Java 10 on a Linux box - and it was OK but
using "standard" font.
The screen shot you showed had an unusual font setting (looked to be a
ttf one) .
For a direct comparison can you post a screen shot of your player with a

For older SB devices LMS generates display bitmap from font files and
then sends bitmap to the player.
There are three areas to explore:
1. Do you have all the right fonts on your LMS - what fonts are in the
LMS Graphics directory.
2. What "font" setting have you set for the softwsqueeze player
I recently found the display on my software player (SoftSqueeze) has
become completely garbled when rendered in small sizes. The effect
resembles what a faulty VFD might look like, with segments of characters
kind of missing. I understand SoftSqueeze is no longer supported but
originally it worke
