Tx, in the end somehow running the lmsupdate cmd again downloaded 8.1.0
and it upgraded fine.

use?
What is displayed under the [Squeezelite settings] > "Output setting" >

I had it set to USB Audio - which was the setting before the update.
The TempoTec Sonata HD is not listed, nor any generic card based

My guess would be wifi issues on the RPi0W.
I usually monitor the surrounding wifi networks and set my router up to
use a fixed channel not used by my neighbours. I have been told a couple
of times that technically this will not help, but for me it has solved
my wifi issues numerous times. YMMV.
I'm having issues with PiCorePlayer stopping randomly and not advancing
after songs. Happens whether I'm playing from my server or streaming
through Spotty using Spotify Connect. Every thing was running smoothly
with just one player synced to the server until I added a second player.

All the coding is in pcp-rpi-functions.
Usually when RPF release a new product they update their documentation,
then I (or Paul) update pcp-rpi-functions. In the past I used Gordon's
wiringPi because he was always quick to update.

whilst I tweaked some settings all to no avail. After your reply I
thought I'd give a reboot one last try before trying the reinstall

Hi all, I've just upgraded to 6.1 from 5.X
My Sonata USB audio stick is now refusing to output anything. The
PiCore player appears to be running fine.
There's a couple of new settings for USB and I've tried switching those
but still no sound/output. Is there further doco I've missed or can

I just installed pCP 6.1.0 on an old RP1 with a HifiBerry Digi. First I
tried the RT version, but that did not boot. The normal version did
boot, but there was no sound. I tried both Hifiberry options in the
Audio output device settings, but to no avail.

LMS is running, monitoring in 'top', it uses something like 2.5% of
memory and almost no cpu.

Mount cannot take special characters on the command line password=xx
field. mount.cifs cannot either, however, it can deal with special
characters by using a credential file. mount.cifs is extremely heavy
(about 30MB in dependencies) but I have added support for this in the
upcoming pCP7

I run PiCorePlayer on a pi3b in a box with the Audiophonics power
management unit installed. After activating the button in the overlay
another button shows up:

I suggest you make a backup of your set-up.
Then perform the Bootloader rescue to get the latest image
