InSitu update failed. From 7.0.1 on a Pi 4 with a 16GB SD-Card and
'just' pCP (i.e. no LMS).
No idea what went wrong. The pi rebooted and from that moment I wasn't
able to access it anymore. Not through the .local url, nor via the ip
address. Since I don't have a mini-hdmi cable (nots to self: b

dependency was new. Not sure why it was not downloading it

I noticed that the filesystems-5.10.42-pcpCore-v7.tcz.dep included:
cdrom-KERNEL.tcz
but there was no cdrom extension loaded. So I loaded that extension:
Downloading: cdrom-5.4.83-pcpCore-v7.tcz
cdrom-5.4.83-pcpCore-v7.tcz: OK
and then the update went ahead fine.

I checked the repos last night, the files are fine. There is a chance
you have a partial file existing on your system that is corrupt. You
can try to look in
/mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/optional
And delete anything that filesystems-5.10.42-pcpCore-v7*
Make sure not to delete the version from your cu

Yeah, highly likely.
For many years we have been able to have mmap default to 1. On recent
builds, we have found situations where mmap has to be 0. We have been
adjusting defaults.
There is a chance that the upgrade process does not pick up the change.

Likely a change in the kernel caused a udev change. I'll check the

I did 4 "in situ" installations on 3 players and one server. No
problems. Before the player update i removed the @soundcheck sKit and
after update i installed it again.
After the update on pCP LMS server i had to update the LMS binaries and
libraries manually.
IMHO pCP 8.0 sounds better, than 7.

LMS and everything seams to be ok except one thing: Shutdown GPIO.
On 7.01 was ok
(dtoverlay=gpio-shutdown,gpio_pin=3,active_low=0,gpio_pull=down) but
after update it fails (working like a stop button).

from the GPIO port as balanced LVDS format. And for this a HDMI port and

Sounds like a space issue or corrupt download.
Have you tried rebooting?
Check the size of your boot partition. pCP does check space before it
downloads but you never know.
Have you done insitu's in the past from 5 to 6 to 7?
Have you loaded extra extensions? Sometimes a bootstrap command get

The other insitu was my Pi3B+ (7.01 before) with Jivelite, Hifiberry and
Bluetooth Headphone: I had to deinstall Bluetooth before but it was an
easy install afterwards. The pairing of the headphone was no problem.

Thank you. I was on the wrong update panel. I was impressed that the
update reviewed the memory required vs available. Since I had plenty of
memory I ran it and all of my music files were still intact :D

InSitu update completed on 8 players, including one LMS on a mixture of
pi 2,3 and 4 with a mixtures of configs. All ran perfectly. I'll
likely get around to updating them from clean install at some point, but
insitu ran perfectly for me.

I happened to select an extension and clicked update and there was an
update available. Is there a way to update all extensions with a single
click or is it necessary to check each one individually?
