Need Win Applications in my job.
Started with Parallels and was quit satisfied BUT since version 4 networking
doesn´t work satisfactory so I went to Fusion and its works well.
Perhaps Par.version 5 works better?!?!!?!?
Parallels had better Mac like look.

But I would never dream of not testing an app on a real physical machine, if
I were a professional developing for that platform.

experience with Fusion. I never tried Parallels. Most of the programs are 50 or
more MBs

of virtualization per se, given that it provides a shell in which
the OS makes native calls which for the most part are going straight

Parallels does provide an additional layer for integration with the

To make it short, and if you are not into games, Fusion is a very

VMWare allows multiple shared folders, just go to preferences for each
virtual machine. This means that the folder is visible/read/write for both
Mac and Win. This should be the same for Parallels.

In Parallels you can easily designate a Mac folder to be available to
the VMs. It is very simple to do.
I believe VMWare can do this but I have not tried it yet.

a restart. On the other hand, Bootcamp allows you to choose from more
than 2 operating systems:

Although Parallels is a great product and I know many people who like
it a lot, have you looked into using VMWare instead? Apart from being
the well-established experts in the industry, VMWare Fusion uses more
acceptable means for hooking into your Mac from a behind the scenes
No I haven't looked at VMWare Brent, but I will give it a go. I love
this list, there are always people who know something about

I have both VMWare Fusion and Parallels 3.0. I was a heavy parallels user
but when I begun my GSoC work, Haiku would not run under parallels, so I
migrated to VMWare Fusion. I bought both during their beta period so I paid
less than 100 USD for both products.

You may try an alternative - VMware player (www.vmware.com). It is free of
charge even for commercial use. I use it on my Windows machine and it can
virtualize all flavours of Linux, BeOS, Solaris and NetWare. I tried it with
Puppy, PCLinux, Slackware Vector Linux, DSLinux, Open Solaris (Belenix),
