For Storm 2.0 I'm OK to drop supporting Ganglia reporter as same as why we
removed storm-druid in Storm 2.0.
When we drop supporting Ganglia reporter in 1.x it would be backward

people use Ganglia reporter, so I feel even OK

Regarding UI stuck, I guess storm-kafka-monitor is being called while
opening topology page, and being stuck waiting for response. We need to
have timeout while executing storm-kafka-monitor and force shutting down
storm-kafka-monitor process.

Could you change your bolt to no-op but ack and run again? It makes your
benchmark more clearer.
And if you pick your number from the first 10 minutes, could you pick your
number from another 10 minutes? It gets rid of worker / executor deploy /
startup time, and warm-up of JVM.

Finding the answer why many of them are not seen now is the key to bring
back community activity. Losing competitiveness is one of them, and
personally I take it seriously.

Nice interview, Julien!
I think crawler is the interesting use case of Apache Storm which other
declarative style streaming frameworks are hard to get.
(I wrote the non-general one last year for internal project, too.)
Hope that your session will be crowded. Thanks for sharing.

You need to check the scope of storm-core. This needs to be set to
'compile' for running with local, and needs be set to 'provided' for
running with remote cluster.

Maybe you can use issue STORM-2145. Once your patch get approved I'll

Please try connecting leader nimbus (just telnet) manually using host name
which API provides.
Btw, all nodes should be able to resolve each other's hostname, and local
machine should be able to resolve nimbuses hostname.

Your query, schema of the table, index, and others matter. So experimenting
with your query and your table schema, and your infra only give you to
valid answer.

If it works perfectly, I guess that's the cause. If then please file an
issue so that we can track it.
Please let me know you'd like me to test this.

Hi Eranga,
Since Storm 2.0.0 ports many clojure files to Java, we definitely need to
some iterations for QAing.
Please file an issue what you observed. If you can provide pull request for
that it would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Storm doesn't include native support of metrics consumers so you may want
to find or create one.
Btw, there will be some improvements on metrics features on upcoming 1.1.0
release.

Unfortunately without the minimal code which can reproduce this I'm hard to
dig more.
I followed the path based on stack trace, and it would be
IllegalArgumentException, but it should have message which describes why it
is thrown.
Do you find more stack trace informations on that?

Hi Chen,
Could you try running your topology with Storm 1.0.2 in local mode? Since
it's in local mode you can easily try it out.
