Oops, I forgot a case.
When I opened the original ODT document with the drawing-created text box in
Microsoft Office Word 2010, the document opened with only one problem. The box
was too small for the text so I had to enlarge the frame a little to get all of
the text to fit. I could see it

Is anyone else able to verify this.

Yeah, I'm not surprised to see an MVP giving a good answer. Now if it
were an MPM, then I would really be surprised.

Hi :)
It's the older KDE on Vista Win7 isn't it? lol, i am joking but it was
clearly
inspired by KDE. The Start button menu operates almost exactly the same way
and it's quite different from the Xp one.
The Windows one in Vista and Win7 is called DWM (=Desktop Window Manager)
Hi :)
Thanks Sigrid. Copy-left agreements such as the Creative Commons used in
artworks, video, documentation and elsewhere is a very new concept that can
allow people to copy, modify and redistribute.
The traditional idea of public domain is merely that you are allowed to read

Oops, ignore my last email about this!
Someone at work suggested turning the label sheets the other way around in the
printer as there is often a tiny difference in the measurements between
topbottom and leftright. I tried measuring it with a ruler but the
difference
seems negligible

Hi again
Sorry for my tone yday. I appeared to be addressing Alex negatively but in
fact
i do know he has done and continues to do a lot of hard work to help Base

that would give more time if they were able to or if
Hi Tom,
Thanks to you and the others who responded to my query. It made
interesting reading.
As suggested below I have installed Libre Office 3.4.2 in parallel with
the default version of LO supplied under Ubuntu 11.04.
I understand that things aren't always going to be right with .docx

Hi Tom,
There was one size label our church was using that wasn't on the World
Label list of available labels. Those labels were used to print
ingredients for Easter eggs they sell. Also, there wasn't a template for
that particular size. I sent them an e-mail. Apparently it was an error

I've not seen tables-of-content move between Microsoft Word and ODF documents
very well, in either direction. (But I have not dug into it enough to conquer
whatever the limitations are, either.)

Hello all,
Is there a way to open a PDF file in Draw, or another LibreOffice program,
without having the program use OCR? I have some PDF files that are basically
just pictures of book pages and when LibreOffice tries to parse the
mediocrely-scanned text it becomes unreadable.

Hi :)
Many apologies. I had assumed you were sharing much shorter documents with
office users in an office type environment. Since you are writing a longer

I think it might be a good idea to read about using styles

Hi Jorge,
Basically I want to do some minor editing of the pictures in the PDF. Delete
some pages, move some from one document to another, delete parts of pages. The
problem is that LibreOffice is trying to interpret the text in the images as
text and that makes it unreadable. I just want to
