at editing the field results in no corruption of the data. That is, a
VFP table opened that has a memo, data inserted in the memo field, then
opened again in VFP showed no obvious corruption.

If you select start recovery it opens everytime with no errors.
It appears as if some sort of 'file has closed ok' flag is not removed
from the system when exiting a file.

on my system, hence the need to use synaptic to mark and remove packages.

All these fields as well as page numbers, table captions and dates all
appear the same colour. The preferences section should allow the user to
change the colour of these different field types so they can be easily
distinguished when reviewing a document.
