... ok (naive) as I expected. With OpenJdk16 the RCP only launches the
splash screen and hereafter dies ... ok so jdk11 is the upper limit. Good
to know. I will gather the exact specs of the laptop as well as install
Nb8.2 on it to see if it fails just using Nb82. out of the box.

Thanx Geertjan, I have the strong feeling this is application independent
and hence I will simply run Nb8.2 on the Alienware and see if it fails just
using Nb8.2. I will keep you posted. First I go the naive way (hope) and
try jdk16 ... ;-)
