I've just downloaded 2.0beta, and am very impressed so far. However, it
seems that like many other users, I have lost many hours trying to
figure out how to prevent Ooo from inserting a blank page automatically
after my title page.

Please do *not* start a new question by replying to an old one as this causes
several problems:
1) most email software will correctly think that your email is a response to
the email you are replying to, and will indicate this by displaying your

Openoffice can open word files, but it cannot use word macros, and not
all third party aplications or extensions are compatible with it.

as desired. However, I must run this program as root!

Verify that the TOC will include that particular style. Typically, it is
based on the outline numbering, so be certain to configure the outline

for windows installer but visiting windowsupdate is the first step.
The latest Windows Installer can be downloaded from M$ Download page as
a separate package.

Application Data folder, there wasn't an OpenOffice folder within it. The
computer where I'm running into this is a fairly new Compaq laptop with
nVidia graphics. I don't think that's the problem.
