I note that OpenOffice is producing an Aqua-look for the Mac version.
Suggestion: produce an Aqua-look for the PC version.
Why do Windows word processors have to look so awful. The old versions had
cartoon color schemes, and the new Office 2007 continues this unimaginative,
awful color scheme.
I am currently using OpenOffice.org 1.1.2. Can I download the free 2.1 version
without problems with those documents I've previously created? Thanks, Gene

I retried and it works I just have to open each programme separately.
Thanks Stan

Now that would be a program. Translating text is always problematic.
There are some websites that can handle this for you, and possibly
some programs (I'm not aware of any). Google is your friend here.

Don't expect that the programs will be named Word or Excel. From
www.openoffice.org, you can download the OpenOffice suite, which
includes the parts Writer (similar to MS Word) and Calc (similar to
MS Excel).

Yes. I myself did not download version 2.1 yet, but in the past, I
upgraded within OpenOffice without any problem.
It seems to me that the file formats remain the same as in version 1.0.4.
