i can confirm this issue. I have the same problem with the german umlaut
characters, xwiki 3.5, tomcat 7 and postgres 9.1. Also followed the
recommendations from
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Encoding without
success.

i played a litle bit with the new release 3.4 and debian on virtual
machines.
First i tried out the standalone installation on the testing
distribution wheezy. The installation works well. But the page
