You just want a standard license then, that is for MSEO/I am guessing
you don't want

Hi Justin
This Server is going to be part of the NetBackup environment.
So I do not want this to be a master on its own, just a Media Server
that has the ability to:
1) Attach to its own robotic drive
2) Backup

That means a standard media server license; if you have enterprise
netbackup then you want enterprise media server.
BUT if you are doing encryption already - and you want to encrypt your
backup

Simon,
I don't think the term media server really exists any more, at least
we have Veritas Netbackup 6.5 version (Redhat LINUX client). Recently I
continue see messages on log file say:
14:57:14.016
[15792] 2 get_string_: protocol error - string read failed (Timer
expired)
14:57:45.001 [15792] 2

I don't show a single file or directory under that directory.
Just to add my tuppence worth. I also only do full catalogs just to confirm
what we backup (checked in BAR GUI):
I wish there was a way to post a screenshot on this forum. :)
You could just upload the screenshot to something like
http://imageshack.us/and then post the link here.

I just checked by catalog tape ( I always do fulls)
And I do find /usr/openv/netbackup/db on the tape listing class and
images and other items
I am aware that with netbackup I can share a SCSI tape library with a master
and media server and that the server that can see the robot can manage the tape
mount requests.
Is it possible to use backup exec to do this? If i have 2 backup exec servers
and one tape library with 2 tape devices -
Mark,
We use the Catalog backup policy that is standard with Netbackup.
We push backups to VTL, DSSU, FSU, and tape. We have requirements for offsite
as well as onsite storage.
My issue is that we could not get the media pools back upone recovery at
Sungard.
BTW, we haven't figure out an

What we discovered is:

Judy,

I don't show a single file or directory under that directory.
The only thing that spurred this was when we were at DR last week and the media
pools were not there after the catalog import.
