I must say that the Benchside Reference, IMHO, is worth every penny I paid
for it. I often refer to it as well as to the new beginners Benchside
reference, often just to refresh my memory on a fly that I've not tied for a

It's the first one I mention every time someone asks for book advice. Of my
books, this was the one that dug deepest in the wallet... but is also the
only one I would call 'underpriced'. (And, even if it was one of the first
tying books I bought, it's still the one with the thinnest dust layer.

just want to say that i am always looking at it and am trying to print it out
lol always looking for new things to do with tying and ways to do it and new
material to use like others lol so printing it out is

I saw a FTJ (fly fishing and tying journal) at the local Barnes
i remember when Rare and Unusual volume's 1. 2. first came out in the 90's.
They were $90 each..i paid a lot more than that for my copies. But the

Introduction to Fly Tying that has patterns...? i remember the one my
friend had was spiral bound and you could lay it flat on the table. i think i'd
better order the Benchside Reference, lol.
