The romance of fly fishing lies as much in the beauty of a mountain stream, a
perfect cast and the ultimate catch as it does in the art of trout and salmon
fishing equipment.

Get some of the non lip shelf matting from some store.
Get blue matting if you can or color with a pen to blue.
Tie some type of material across the front for wings.

Don, How well do those flies cast? I've cobbled a few together and
they don't cast well at all. Spinning, fluttering and consequently wind
resistance have bitten me in the butt with most of my efforts at
dragons/damsels.

Rodger,
Fixed-wing flies just about always have a flight problem of some sort. The
best materials I have found so far for flight are hackles. Unfortunately I
don't have any current photos of recent ones. Don't know why, but I should.
The hackles can fold back as the fly is cast, then

Folks: We're doing some remodeling on a place we bought, and yesterday, I found
a dead hummingbird in one of the eaves. He is perfectly preserved, with the
tiniest, but most beautiful iridescent green, read and yellow feathers. First
off, will I go to jail or get fined for even tying with the
No way would I tie with his feathers. If he's that perfectly preserved, why
not maake
a nice little mount out of him. If you have some Audubon members in your area,
they
could tell you what to do. I'd do that before burying or mounting him.

Re: [VFB] Hummingbird FeathersI hate that since Billie has the bird in HER
possession ROFL... Seriously, she put it in a jar and it's in her van. I'd do
what Jimmie said about contacting the Audubon society, but if it's like you say
and I could be arrested for just possessing it, I'd hate to
ROFL... OK. I'll pack him in with the penguin I found LOL., Chuck

Nope, Chuck, you're not supposed to have them.

Jimmy: I'll look closer at him tonight. I'm not sure he'd be mount quality
as he's s dried out, he almost fell apart when I just held him for one
second. But I noticed that the feathers were in perfect condition. I'll have
to look closer at it tonight, Chuck

When I lived in N.J. a grade school student made up a chart with song
bird feathers that she gathered off the ground for a school project
that was open to the parents. One on the other students father was a
game warden, no need to tell you what happened.

One thing just dawned on me. Since China now OWNS the US, because we are their
biggest debtor, by FAR , and that would give them the right to control our laws
as well, which they ARE doing. , then I bet that if you went to Wal Mart for
example, took apart the flies sold there, they'd have all
