          When I lived in N.J. a grade school student made up a chart with song 
bird feathers that she gathered off the ground for a school project that was 
open to the parents. One on the other students father was a game warden, no 
need to tell you what happened.

            Actually, Chuck, I asked an Indiana  DNR man (game warden) about 
that very thing some time back.  He said that possession of a single songbird 
feather could be grounds for an arrest.


            So I leave them alone. 


            It's a shame, because hummingbirds do have some of the prettiest 
feathers in nature!
