Jimmy: I'll look closer at him tonight. I'm not sure he'd be mount quality as he's soooo dried out, he almost fell apart when I just held him for one second. But I noticed that the feathers were in perfect condition. I'll have to look closer at it tonight, Chuck

No way would I tie with his feathers. If he's that perfectly preserved, why not maake a nice little mount out of him. If you have some Audubon members in your area, they
could tell you what to do. I'd do that before burying or mounting him.

Subject: [VFB] Hummingbird Feathers

Folks: We're doing some remodeling on a place we bought, and yesterday, I found a dead hummingbird in one of the eaves. He is perfectly preserved, with the tiniest, but most beautiful iridescent green, read and yellow feathers. First off, will I go to jail or get fined for even tying with the feathers even though he was long dead when I found him???? If so, I'll just give him a decent burial. If not, does anybody have any recipes using hummingbird feathers??? These are some of the prettiest feathers I have ever seen, and I know some of them are down to size 32 feathers. Thanks, Chuck
