First off, will I go to jail or get fined for even tying with the feathers
even though he was long dead when I found him???? If so, I'll just give him a
decent burial.

Actually, Chuck, I asked an Indiana DNR man (game warden) about that very
thing some time back. He said that possession of a single songbird feather
could be grounds for an arrest.

  So I leave them alone.

It's a shame, because hummingbirds do have some of the prettiest feathers in
nature!
