OK Itunes tells me that both the sound and video format are not AAC-LC for audio or mpeg 4 or h264 for video, but rather sorenson 3 and QDesign music 2, which the ipod doesnt support. You need to encode your vids with totally different settings to achieve ipod compatibility. Cheers Steve Elbows

From what I recall ... it's not vegas' fault but Quicktime's. There is something about the Windows Quicktime API that is not exposed to windows applications (not even if you have QT Pro installed). I'm pretty sure its the AAC audio codec. Basically windows applications cant request the AAC

Aha you are using 3ivx, which is the older type mpeg4, rather than h264, but is superior in speed and quality to apples mpeg4. Certainly when it comes to mpeg4 rather than h264, theres a lot more choice of encoders editing apps that may have built in export. 3ivx on Windows may not even need
