Hi Mark,
I am totally blind and do at times turn the volume down extremely low although
rarely all the way. Having said that I have had it where it was so low that I
couldn't hear it at all because I was in a noisy place. In that case I just
press the digital crown or turn it up since I have
Hello Anna,
Yours is a very good suggestion.
However, were I totally blind, I'm not certain that I would be comfortable
doing this as I would have no definitive feedback as to when the watch was
awake or locked.
In fact, I experimented with this today and; as I expected, without audio/hap
Hello Tracy,
Well, the simple answer to your question is, "Yes."
You can definitely keep track of the number of steps you take on a treadmill.
In fact, I do this exact same thing.
Many people on the list have their favorite third-party apps for this purpose
but you can use the built-in
Hello, you are indeed correct that while watching live TV, you can switch to
the secondary audio channel.
I have not found a way to do this while watching a program from the DVR, nor
have I found any fast forward controls.
I’m using the latest Spectrum app on an iPhone with IOS 12.

In my purse, I stick a set of headphones with mike in a little set in an open
medicine bottle - one of those little plastic ones. I can pull them out fast
then push them back in, yet they are easy to find and accessible.
Best regards,
Carolyn

Hi all, I'm trying to figure out different ways to keep track of what I do on
the treadmill. It's occurred to me, how about keeping track of the number of
steps I walk on it. Would this work? Via my watch? Could I get a notification
when I walk a certain amount of steps?
Thanks,
Traci

Yeah, I mean, if I’m going out or whatever, I just shove them into my pants
pocket, but here around the house, I generally try to keep them in an altoid
tin. It helps me to remember where I placed them and again, keeps the cat away
from them. I don’t place them in there all nice and neat
Sorry about that. I was thinking about something else. I see that the
process is indeed different regarding setting the sound for the timer in
iOS 12.

I tried lyft once but quit after they lied about a discount. I was suppose to
get a discount but never saw it activated. I was charged almost $8 for a ride
less than 2 miles.
character is found in how you treat people who cannot do anything for you!

I do not know what setting you are looking at, but there is no sound setting
for Timer in settings.
You set the sound in the timer and there is no option to have no sound.
Hence, my recommendation.
I would be happy to be proven wrong though.

Exactly, normally a device like that should easily work for 10 or 15 years.

Interesting, if I received a new iPhone or bought new Earpods which came in a
plastic case said case would never see the Earpods again after I removed them
the first time.
I find it way too much trouble to try and nicely put these things back in the
base, I use them way too much for that so
That is why composing entire new emails or anything beyond a brief reply is
better done on an iPhone, I doubt you will find any sighted person who fiddles
with his or her Apple Watch for serious emailing.

Ann,
The following settings allow me to check time silently on my Apple Watch.
On my iPhone, in Watch/settings/General/ Wake Screen, I have wake screen on
wrist raise off,
In Settings/General/Accessibility/VoiceOver, Taptic time on, Speak on wrist

That appears to be it. I had this
Yes, but at least for the Echo it is amazing how often it does listen when 2 or
3 people are talking and it thinks it heard "Alexa".
Not sure if you have an Echo device, but the theory here may sound better than
the reality. At my store I changed the wake word to "Echo" because one of my

No there is no way to change sound on the AppleWatch. Like Anna said, you can
turn the volume all othe way down or something like that, but the rings it
makes are all we get.

I find the lyft app easier to use, but they do update and periodically
change the format. For example, with Uber you set your pick up point first,
while with lyft, you set up your destination first. This can be confusing
if you use both.

I have been playing around with the app to see if I can make some sense out of
it. So far, this is what I know.
If you get into an individual recipe, directly below the recipe title there are
five toggle buttons. If you double tap on the one VoiceOver calls Basket,
you get the ingredients.
Adam,
If you have the sounds set to vibrate on ring, and make a custom ringtone that
is silent, and set that as your timer sound, it will work.
But, there is no option for vibrate only with the timer.
Sounds like a good suggestion for Apple as someone who is deaf or hard of
hearing could
Hi,
One thing you can do is turn the volume all the way down. To adjust the volume,
double-tap and hold with two fingers and slide them up or down.

Hi all,
Wondering if there is a way to have your timers from the clock app
vibrate instead of playing a tone.
If not does anyone know of an app where I can accomplish this?
TIA.

It would really be nice if we could switch off the voice reading of the time!
