Robin, I just used Dropvox yesterday. It's reliable and easy to use,
isn't it?

There's a program called Winamp which should not only work with Windows XP, but
should also play m4a files.
Thanks,

Hello, Ari.
I have a very old Windows XP notebook that won't read m4a files. The
friend who wants the file also has an old machine. However, I decided
not to convert the file for him right off the bat. I sent him the m4a
file and will convert it only if he needs me to do so. You are right
that
Just curious, but why do you want to convert the file to a different format?
Most media players for computers can handle m4a files if they're DRM-free, and
the voice memos that iOS makes certainly are avoid of DRM. Most portable media
players can also handle these types of files.

I have now found all of the voice memo files, which are stored in m4a
format. What is the easiest way to convert any one of these files to
either a wav or mp3 file?
Thank youfor all help.

Thank you, Neal, for this helpful information. My problem has
actually changed since I last wrote. My chief need now is to find an
easy way to convert the files, stored in m4a format, to either wav or
mp3. The person who wants one of the voice memos probably can't play
an m4a file.
Thank you.

Hi, I'm guessing this is not the answer you would get from an iTunes expert,
but there is another way. You can click on Share and email it to your email
account on your computer. It will be an attachment which you can name
anything you wish. And now, we will hear how to do this in iTunes from
