Hi Carol,
It is Gmail that creates and manages this folder, not Apple. If you use
Gmail in Microsoft Outlook or another mail client, or indeed if you access
your Gmail account using the standard view on the web, you'll see this
folder as well. You should be able to hide it from showing up in IMAP
If you are talking about the VIP folder, no messages are actually placed there.
You added names to VIP. VIP is what Apple calls a Smart Mailbox. Messages
remain where they were originally. VIP points directly to each message so you
can access them without dealing with other messages in your inbo
I think it's an Apple thing,but no doubt someone else will know for
sure!
