I sent another message earlier talking about a solution: I de-
embedded a range of fonts using Acrobat Pro 8, some of which I had
never heard of. My end size was 2.7MB. The option comes under
save as - useing Optimize.

I haven't used AW's for years, but I seem to remember you can:

Ronni is correct, you simply export the database as text which will
produce a tab delimited text file. (No need to rename it as .csv though)
Excel will import it as is.
File make will happily import it but ask you first if the top row is
data or the name of the fields.

thats pretty par for the course if you look at how much one will run

first thing to do is boot from the installer CD (doesn't have to be
the one for the current version just has to be an OSX boot CD
compatible with your mac) after it finishes booting and gets to the
start of the installer go to the menu item and select
