Peter,
Personally I would not use a hard drive for archival purposes for
many reasons, including:

Peter,
Save the document as a Rich Text File (rtf). I know of no word-
processor that can't read and interpret rtf files. Also, InDesign
will happily place rtf files, often doing a better job than the same
document saved as doc or docx file types.

Just had a thought - my existing modem/router -Netgear ADSL2+ Modem Router DG834G is "G" standard.Maybe i should buy a new one that is "N" standard and that might solve the signal problem. egNETGEAR Wireless-N 150 Router with DSL Modem DGN1000 - Wireless router + 4-port switch .Worth trying
Hi Peter,
Generally whenever I want to create a document accessible to both
Windows/Mac users (without tying them into having proprietary paid software)
I just create the document in whatever software suits ME for the particular
task and then just print it as a pdf (which is so easy in OSX).

Thanks Daniel - emptying the cache did the trick.
Interestingly I reset Safari only yesterday, although I didn't remove
the cookies then. That is next on my list.

Well, looks kinda interesting.
Will be interested to see what the Australian prices are like when it's up
in the morning.
For more of a read have a look here:-

Kinda cool. And it runs iWork (new App store version)
I'm a little scared of the pricing that will be offered by the telcos for the
data plans, as Aussie telcos do not know the word ulimited, like the ATT plan.
Which telco/s will offer this is also of concern and do any of our telcos
support the micro SIM that the iPad supports?

Yes, that will be another of the interesting things to watch.
They didn't mention anything about international plans, except they are
working on it, and hope to have it by June.
So I wouldn't hold my breath :o)
Kind Regards

Mike,
Over the years I have had quite a bit of scanning success with

I spent quite a bit of time adjusting the many settings in that

I think it's going to be a device that flourishes once two things

2) os 4.0 comes out with multitasking
Until then, for me it will be a wait and see. I bet the third party

Oh, and
I suspect that for developed countries there is a very good chance that the

It won't be long before traditional print will be a rarity especially

As soon as the distribution rights are sorted with books (and what a

The distribution rights have to be sorted out, is my guess. That's
