As Ronni has mentioned Spectrum Data are quite good. I've also used Elcotronics. Found them to be a bit dearer then some of the others, but have had better results with their service. They charge about $150 just to look at it then advise what it will cost. The last data recovery I got done for a c

just a couple of clarifications, 1. Can your laptop actually boot at all? (before you assume it is all hard disc death) - try booting from the OS disc. Put it in the drive and boot while holding down the "c" key. If it is only the disc that is dysfunctional it should boot fine, then you can use
