Hello all,
I have an 800 MHz eMac which has recently decided to power up no longer. It is
a complete system, save for the hard disk, and includes a combo drive and 384
MB SDRAM as well as a keyboard and mouse.
As to why it no longer starts, I suspect the problem could be something
Hi there, I have for no apparent reason had the toolbars for MS Word (Macbook

some global setting. But I haven't actually changed anything
Hi Folks,
Has anyone used the Apple iPhoto printing service?
I would like to get some photos printed, but have not been happy with
snapfish or the kmart kiosks.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you
Kind regards

Hi Nichole,
I have used iPhoto for the photo book printing service but not for individual
photo prints. The book was delivered in a timely fashion and the paper quality
and binding are of a very high standard. I am also pleased with the colour
reproduction and quality of the photo prints. If
Thanks Ronni Robin, I'll give those a try tomorrow.
I reinstalled Tiger but it still crashes,

Yep, that's right. July is nearly over which means that the August WAMUG
Monthly Meeting is just around the corner. Or just over the hill, depending on
which university you went to.
Anyway, don't forget to set your iCals up for next Tuesday, 2 August 2011.

The photo in this article tells it all. Not that I'm likely ever to be using my

It's things like that that remind me why I love using a Mac.
I remember when burners first came out and I was working in retail and it

The Mac was install burner, install software. Done.
The Windows instructions was, install burner. Install software.
Hi Ken,
We’ve seen this before after a firmware update didn’t complete or sometimes
even a security update.
First try booting and holding the power button until the light flashes. If
that doesn’t fix it you may have hard drive errors (what I suspect since
you’ve reinstaled Tiger).

Hi Steven,
I'm not sure I agree with your assessment of OS X 10.7 Lion. There is very
little reason for your MBP to run slower under Lion unless you have some extra
processes are running in the background. When you first install Lion, spotlight
will reindex your hard drive. This may cause a

Hi Steven,
I do agree with Carlo’s comments below, Lion should be faster than your

I presume you did not do a ‘Clean Install’ of Lion but did an ‘In-place

I also presume you did all the necessary preparations before
Hi Carlo
It might be comforting to some to hear that post-Lion sluggishness isn't
expected to be the norm, but it's definitely the case with my MBP, and a quick
web search of something like 'lion sluggish' indicates it's not an issue
isolated to me. Agree that initial TM backups and indexing
