One family member is a textile designer and does all her work on a
Mac (PPC G5).
However all the machines that actually do the work are driven a PC (P4).
The PCs are woefully out of date. Huge amounts of CPU power is
needed for the software to generate the stitching patterns (art is

tablet.
We have loaded XP onto a MacBook and it looks OK, but when we loaded
the latest driver for the tablet the pen does not respond.
The Tablet Model is: CTF-420 and the program is 4D Sketch.

I have previously had help from the list on sending embedded graphics
in Apple Mail, however I also use Eudora and cannot find any setting
in Preferences to select Rich Text so that when forwarding messages
containing a graphic it actually gets sent.
Anyone a Eudora Guru?

The next G3 tower I have set up with OSX and OS9 won't restart in OSX.
From OSX, I went to System Preferences Startup Disk and restarted
in OS9, but when I go to Startup Disk in nine it gives me only two
choices; Hard drive or Network Disk and with either selected the Mac
reboots in OS9.
I am setting up a G3 350mhz tower. It is running well with OS 10.3,
however when I try to shut it down, a message appears in a black
frame in four languages telling me that I need to restart the
computer by holding down the start button for a few seconds. On

I am having problem with my BB connection through iinet.
My speed varies from the usual 426kbps down as low as 49kbps.
After a complete restart of the modem and the iMac I am back to
426kbps.
The modem is a D-Link DSL 300. iMac intel on OS 10.4.10

Our daughter's iBook died on her and after opening it I find that the
small board which carries ti external power input is cooked.
Sodoes anyone have a broken 14 white iBook that I may be able to
buy that bit from?

The main purpose of going to Bali was to visit
the school at Catur where we set up computers
almost three years ago and take a couple of
secondhand Macs and printers and a cheapo digital
camera to try and give staff and students a
rounded experience.
We had an iMac in its original packaging

The problem with faulty paper feed has been fixed. When I dismantled
the printer I found one central pickup roller of approx 20mm in
diameter had lost its rubber 'O' ring. It was easily threaded back
on and now I should look at getting a few more from a mate as they
are the simplest
Has anyone worked out a fix for the paper feed problems that older
stylewriters experience? I have several to go to Bali, but most of
them have a paper feed problem.
The printer tries to grab the paper then tells me that there is no paper.
Any ideas or landfill?

installed at a school in the hills.

I am on a 20 intel and suddenly I cannot merely double click on
links. I now get the dialogue box giving me a number of options.
It also sometimes happens on icons.

20 iMac 2.4ghz. Broadband with iinet @ (supposedly) 512 through a
D-link DSL-300 modem.
Mpegs run poorly with many breaks during the play. Is this due
to my 512 connection or am I due for a later model modem?

I have been donated a Umax Astra 3400 USB scanner, but don't have a
driver. Umax are a bit mean and want payment for their drivers.
This scanner is for my Zimbabwe project.
Perchance does anyone have a Mac driver for OS 9 (version 3.7.5)? I

On our new iMac, digital cameras (Nikon D70 and Canon A400) don't
appear in iPhoto or in Image Capture.
Up until a few days ago they worked fine. Any ideas for me on this one.

I confess to being a bit greedy and dumb.I took the free Ram
offered by Chris Griffiths without checking what my machine already
had..2 X 512Mb sticks with only two slots. I somehow thought
that it had a 1Gb stick.

zap. I did get it to function after talking rather sternly to it

Our new intel iMac needs Office 2004 or I guess I could run 2001 with
Rosettathat is, if I could find Rosetta and/or any instructions.

I am about to connect friends with Broadband.
I am looking at Dodo with a 1.5Mbps/256Mbps plan with 3000MB
download (1000MB+2000MB).I assume that the 2GB bit is speed
reduced??? The cost of this plan is $29.90 per month.

I am trying to get two Apple Color Onescanners set up to consign to
the wilds of Africa. I have owned a couple of these babies in the
distant past and recall that Ofoto was a must to get them going.
Ofoto has long gone. I have loaded two Macs with the Onescanner
plug-in, but each time I go

the OS trash but Thunderbird's trash and Bob steered me in the correct
direction which was just under my nose.

eMac 700mhz 10.3.9 Plenty of memory, using Eudora (sponsored mode)
and Apple Mail.
If we receive an email message with an attachment I can forward the
message without any problems, however if a message arrives with
graphics embedded in the text, the graphics do not forward with the
text.

As part of the shipment I am sending to a school in Zimbabwe I have
been donated a 5300c laptop. The machine works fine, but the
plastic frame holding the screen has come apart with a gap on the
hinge end and a gap at the bottom of the screen. Squeezing the
frame together reseats it fine,
