The problem I had was quite different. My husband’s iPhone kept asking him to
sign in to his Apple ID. When we tried it never worked.
I rang Apple and they told me to log into the Apple ID server. I did, it worked.
Later he sent us an email with a couple of URLs, I did not look at the

Is the problem logging into the computer or is the problem logging into your
AppleID

Why don’t you ring Apple support. They solved my password problem when I got no
answers. I rang in the late afternoon and got through very quickly. The man
also sent me the URL so I could find it again plus some other useful URLs.

Pat, if you change your Apple password, it is universal. That becomes the
password you use with your Apple ID and the new password will have to be used
for all of your devices. It’s not a bug. Just make sure that you are using the
same password on all of your devices.

target the right objectives. It drags in my phone and iPad and tries to make
new passwords for them, when it is the computer that needs it.
