I checked all the buttons as directed.
When I next made contact my friend on the PC said his Skype had not
recognised changes he had made until he shut it down and rebooted it.
We are now in contact and also with one of my sons in Canberra. What
a great device.

Perhaps also a video cam app such as PhotoBooth may have taken control
of the camera. Check if you can disable the camera in that app.

couple of little icons on the bottom, one of which is a little grey
video icon. You have to click on that to have video.
