You're welcome Chris. Yes there are many sources of DRM free eBooks. For
instance there is a repository of eBooks that goes by the name of Project
Gutenberg. It is a collection of works that have fallen out of copyright and
into the public domain. ePub books from Project Gutenburg can be

Hi Chris,
With ePub books there is always the question of Digital Rights Management
(DRM). DRM is a system whereby only the legal owner of an eBook can open it on
his or her device. Some books have gone into the public domain and will be DRM
free, but many eBooks that you pay for will be
Hi Chris
I have not used iTunes for ebooks. I have the Borders App on my iPad. eBooks
purchased from them appear instantly in my Borders library. Still amazed at how
instantaneous it all is. But then I am still amazed at the technology that
gives us the wonderful world of the iPad. Right now,
Hi Carlo
Thankyou very much for your really informative email regarding the DRM issues
with ePub books; I had no idea of the disparity between vendors!
I will take your advice and limit the number of apps I need. I guess ibooks,
borders and amazon would cover most?

Hi, Chris,
On my iPad, I have iBooks, Kindle, Kobo, Free Books for iPhone (works fine on
iPad, and as its name implies, has hundreds of free books of many genres),
GoodReader (for pdfs) and British Library. The icons for all of these are in
one stack labeled 'Books'.
Happy reading!

Hi, Chris,
A slight amendment to my previous reply - the Free Books app is for iPad, but

Hi Chris
Ages ago I had a similar problem with Fishpond and eBooks and no longer use
them. I did suggest they should offer a warning for iPad users but it did not
happen. I find Borders to be very reliable with instant ebook downloads to my
iPad.

Hi Laura
Thanks very much for your suggestion of Borders. They do have a very good range
at reasonable prices.
After arranging for a refund from Fishpond, I did a search and some ebooks came
up on itunes, as well as Borders. Both have a good range and prices.
