I just happened across this a few minuetes ago. Actor Allan Melvin passed away
of cancer. Known for his character Sam the butcher on the Brady Bunch and many
characters on The Andy Griffith Show.

Well, if you're broke down on the side of the road, what you need is an

As it happens, on Halloween, I was Barney as an angel ( and
I used one today at my daughter's basketball game. She dribbled the ball all
the way down the court and was setting up her shot. Without even thinking I
said outloud, "Miss Rosemary, this is it, don't mess it up!" My husband and a
few folks around me looked at me so funny. He knew it was TAG

i am sorry to read of the passing of allan melvin...the character i remember
most, froms tags, is the bully at the grocery store who threatened barney...he
played countless characters on tags, as well as, sam on the brady bunch...just
another sad day for mayberrians...

I heard tonight that Allan Melvin died today. He portrayed mostly heavies on
TAGS, most notably Fred Plummer. Anybody know more details?
