Does anyone know of one? I am 3 hours south of there and would love to go for
one. I plan to take my wife and my mother there July 20th for the monthly
autograph session by Betty Lynn. We did this a few months ago and want to go
back.

To answer Danny's question, I was able to meet Andy when he was at Disney's
studio theme park to be inducted into the TV Hall of Fame. He was gracious
but not friendly; his manager kept shooing folks away. I had heard he was
not open to visiting and such so I did not press; I merely shook his ha
Tuesday also was a whirlwind for me. My phone rang off the hook with people
asking for interviews or telling me about Andy's passing. I and another member
of our Knoxville, Tennessee, "Mayberry" chapter were interviewed on a live
local television show at 4:00. You can see our interview at

Andy was laid to rest on his farm on Roanoke Island, NC yesterday, but 5 hours
after he had passed. This was per his
instructions. The funeral home there confirmed it. There was a small service,
for family and close friends at about 11:30 am
EDT.

I've been watching TAGS and Matlock today (July 4th) and thinking about how
much we will miss Andy Griffith, but how comforting it is that everyone can
mourn together on this day that is marked by family gatherings, parades,
and picnics. What a fitting time to remember him...I think I hear a band
I got to see Andy at the dedication ceremony for The Andy Griffith Parkway in

I think we all feel like we have lost a member of our family. I have loved Andy
and the show since I was a child. I will always treasure the times I got to see
him in person at the statue dedication and at the Andy Griffith Parkway
dedication. I hope he knew how much happiness and joy he brought
Andy was buried almost immediately after his death. I'm sure this is what he
wanted simply because it is so unusual. Here is the news blurb from CNN.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning on ESPN Radio and had no idea
those two were such big fans of Andy Griffith. For their first tribute they
whistled the theme to the show and then later they played the version from the
early 60's where Andy sang the lyrics to "The Fishin Hole". Mik
