it is a long tough road. But the only way I can ever hope to get this done is
with closed captioning, because my ears are not what

I know technically, these don't qualify. I just love to talk about my kids and

Lets not forget "Albatross" Barney's name for Lydia (which means native of
Lydia BTW). Also when she was Juanita Pike, her father the Mayor referred

While Griffith often dismissed any ties between his show and the sleepy little
town of Mount Airy, North Carolina, even Andy can't deny the many similarities.
For example, if you've wondered where the talented TAGS writers came up with
the various names, it&

There there was an actor, Robert Brubaker, who appeared in two episodes of

in response to using actors names.i prefer the characters names over the
real ones because even though i recognize the names i cant allways put it

I always wonder about things like that. Years ago, Everett Greenbaum said
that when writing for TAGS, he sometimes used names of his neighbors when
growing up in Buffalo. A couple years
30+ years ago my maiden name was used on a sitcom because I knew the writer’s
cousin. She had asked him for local names of people he knew to incorporate
into the script.

I just skimmed through several digests, so I apologize if someone already
mentioned this, but there are two towns near each other in Iowa--Newton, IA and
Monroe, IA. If you are travelling east or west on I-80 between Des Moines and
Iowa City, the sign for Exit 164 says "Newton Monroe" (Newton a
Barney's first girlfriend was Hilda Mae; the town's dry cleaner was H. Fred
Goss; and let's not forget Big Maude Tyler - does "Maude" count as her middle
