Our life here in Eau Claire, WI, continues to follow the stay at home
recommendations and social distancing. So, it has been a very quiet summer
thus far with no parades or car shows at all. There are a few being held,
but being my age, I am not taking any chances, so we are passing them up.

Yes, David Burch, it was nice to meet you and your wife at the Comic-Con
event. I wish we would have had more time to visit. Over the years I have
been able to meet quite a few of the Digest members as they travel through
Wisconsin. Some were able to come to our house for a nice visit and others
I also never heard of a "County Mayor" - I learn something new every day!

Tennessee (where I live now) has both city and county mayors. I never heard of

First, it's great to get the Digest every day again (thanks, Allan) - and
it's great to see everybody is well and contributing interesting facts,
questions, and TAGS tidbits. I never noticed the top file drawer thing
before, and, as a native New Yorker, never noticed Aunt Bee's "bad"

While reading this I had the episode on TVland during their marathon and
they are showing the "The Darlings are Coming" when Briscoe first tells Andy
why they are in town,
Dud tells Mr. Darling that he went looking for Ernest T., but talked to his
cousin (whom we never see) because he couldn't find him. This cousin could have
written the note that accompanied the rock. There's no proof that Ernest T.
wrote the note himself.

I am so glad to see many back on the newsletter. I always look forward to it
everyday.
I am also very glad to see our family newsletter make it to year 20. Even more
so that Lloyd Nolan has made it to 97.

I saw the AARP article too and thought it was a good job. They had emailed

I think the episode Prisoner of Love only had seven characters if I remember
correctly. Andy, Barney, Aunt Bee, Otis, the prisoner, and the two guards
who brought her in. And the entire episode was in the courthouse except for
a short scene on the porch when Andy went home.
