The plan is to have say 30 users, simply flag what days they're free for
work, and then the database makes a note.
So on the admin front end, I could select a user, and see on a calender
what days they're free, and if so, asign them a day to work

Sounds more to me like the path to the libraries are missing.
Check the include paths are setup correctly (i.e. for windows, not *nix)
and that the files that include these constants is definately in the
correct directory.
