Most of the good quality outdoor Ethernet cables have a 'strength tape' in the
middle...
UBNT Carrier has a nice piece of plastic in the middle...
Shireen cable has a nice fiber tape ..
etc etc.

Has the edgepoint been rock solid for you? Thats my main concern with that
approach. This tower is a difficult climb (its actually a light pole) so
avoiding trips up top is ideal.

We use UBNT Carrier. We have attached it to 1/8 cable for support. You do
have to be careful not to tear the outer shield, as otherwise you will have
water go into the cabinet.
We now do not use cat5 on commercial towers, and have opted to a power
cable with fiber. Why run 10-12 strands of cat5 wh
You cut off the outer most plastic. Then it's "normal size" cat5. I
believe I used regular rj45 from a local supply back then.

We are doing a deployment on a 90ft steel monopole where our cable will
hang inside the pole. It seems like we should be using a better grade of
cable than the Primus shielded cat5 we usually use for towers where it is
taped to the leg. Any suggestions?
