Rob,
I'm not trying to be hurtful. I'm saying that there is a load of WiX work
to be done and it seems odd to bite off a custom issue tracking system at the
same time. There's nothing hurtful intended by that, I'm just saying you got a

Hello,
Thanks a lot for the answer.
My problem seems related to HKMU. It seams that using it, causes the
shortcuts not been removed under uninstallation of the program. I'm

If someone has a key, I will be very grateful.

Since this is the second time you've brought it up, I'll take some time to
address the comments so everyone knows why we use the new issue tracker.
First, I rolled our own issue tracker after Bob and I were unhappy with the
other available options. We had a vision of a bug workflow that would aid
As you've found, search still needs more work. Thus far I've focused on
features that help us do triage since, as Blair pointed out, we're 600
behind. Fortunately, we're getting a bug workflow that's really starting to
work for us and the *really* nice thing is we can now add features to make

Sounds like a bug then. I just ran "wix37.exe /layout .", and
redist\dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe is only 869 KB which leads me to believe that
it's the web installer. This is WiX 3.7.1224.0.

“dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe” is the "full" installer, not the web
installer. If you do /layout, that should give you everything you need to
"burn a CD" and install via "sneaker-net".

How is it possible to install “wix37.exe” without any internet connection and
manually interaction (unattended)?

I used “wix37.exe /layout” to get an offline installer.
That’s worked fine.
But the folder “redist” contains the file “dotNetFx40_Full_setup.exe” which is
a web installer.
Because of that it isn’t possible to install “wix37.exe” without an internet
connection.
Is there any solution to get a real
Yes, for some reason Rob has decided to roll his own issue tracking system and
it currently doesn't have a search feature. As if there's isn't enough WiX
work to get done. :)
The "feature request" for that is on yet another bug tracking system:

Thanks.
Now I also found out how to find them. "a little harder to search for" is a
nice description for the fact that you have to explicitly add a
"status:Untriaged" filter. Would be great if that was documented somewhere,
usually a search without additional filters searches through all items ;
Folders are only removed if they are empty at the time the action is run.
Otherwise they are left behind.
Shortcuts are removed when the component creating them is uninstalled.
RemoveFolder is only "really" required for folders that don't have components
"assigned" to them (as often happens w
Hello again,
But, using RemoveFolder inside the component, does it mean that all the
shortcuts, if there are more than one , will be removed when uninstalled?
In other words, they will be treated as a "group" of uninstall?
Thanks a lot for your time.

Actions (such as RemoveFolder) must be associated with a single component
because components are what are installed or removed. If RemoveFolder were
associated with the directory itself, it would require a Component attribute in
order to associate the action with the controlling component, and t
Both happen to still be untriaged (there are still over 600 of those, so no
surprise there, but there were well over 700 at the time of the migration IIRC)
and untriaged bugs are currently a little harder to search for in that new
interface.

I know that site, but I can't find the two bugs I listed in my previous mail
there.
Btw, I don't understand why that site doesn't provide a simple search box.
Having to edit the URL for simple searching is quite annoying.

Hi,
I've created a feature request in the Sourceforge ticket tracker a long time
ago and I've also followed a bug entered by a different user. Both tickets were
closed on 2013-08-21 with the status "migrated" but I can't find them on the
new issue tracker. Where did they go?
