I have been having the same issue trying to work T31EU on FT8. From my
investigating it appears that he is using a WSJT-X variant of software
(MSHV from LZ2HV). When he is in the right time slot I can get him to

So far no more crashes but its too early to tell if its totally gone away.
I did find the WSJT-X_trace.log file and it was almost 800mb. I'll let the
OS background process do its work and check back in a few days to see if it
has been deleted .

did in the version I sent you) with Qt 5.2.1 whereas it was probably 5.1
in the last public release.

I'm hoping that there will be an update for Ubuntu 14.04 soon that fixes
this.
BTW the same occurs with the Qt 5.0.2 package that was available for the
Ubuntu 13.10 version that preceded 14.04 LTS.

It also looks like there may be a way to disable this behaviour in the
application as well. I will do some experiments and commit a fix if it

Are you sure David, the change in r4063 should have no effect at all on
an Ubuntu 14.04 system. It doesn't fix it for me.

accelerators are still greyed out and not working. Also the menu bar
