You can use two or more computers with loud speakers and microphones to set up

Running 2.5.2 "deep decode" recently saw 90-100 decodes posted on 40M in
the evening but the waterfall and JTAlert show about 1/2.
Finally the Band Activity section shows about 1/2 the large count. Anyone

agreed that is not particularly desirable behaviour in this rather
unusual situation. The simple workaround is not to put WSJT-X into FT8
DXpediition Hound mode if you have no intention of transmitting from

by all modes and variants, the exceptions to
that are WSPR, FST4W, Frequency calibration, and EME Echo mode. What
appears to be empty space is almost always a hidden widget that appears
with some other mode or mode variant.

Jon,
that was an attempt to defeat some of the more trivial robot stations,
unfortunately the mass opinion was that it was a misfeature so perhaps
everyone is quite happy for the FT8 sub-bands to gradually fill with
unattended robot operations?

callsign. This may be due to some code used in older modes like JT65
being ctivated where 3DA0 prefixes are treated specially due to their
non-standard composition. With FT8 they *should* be treated as
non-standard calls, but clearly not in this case.
