I don't know if it is related but I had five crashes (program just silently
disappears). The twist here is that it happened while running FT8 in FD
mode.
The problem occurred with both 2.2.1 and 2.2.2. I do have an
auxiliary program (GridTracker) running in conjunction with WSJT-X.

I checked with a JTDX (built on WSJT-X, of course) version2.1.0-rc144,
which is long in the tooth. Same issue of losing the sound card.

Sorry, I didn't report this during RC4 but I accidentally discovered this
unusual behavior with WSJT-X just before RC5 was released. This also
happens in RC5.
While in QSO at transmitting step TX1, TX2 or TX3
I manually change TX4 to "W6xx W7WM RR73 TNX" [1 or 2 extra characters
does not fail)

Just built and tested r7782, and man FT8 is fast paced. I like it!
I did notice that having "CW ID after 73" turned on didn't work well
in that mode - I would get W2 out before it would change to the next
part of the sequence and stop. I unchecked it for now.

I can confirm the USB port has no other process attached to it, and no
other rigctl or similar in use (fresh reboot as well).

can only set the mode/frequency and not query it.
This is with WSJT-X (Linmux) v1.7.0-devel although the released 1.5.0 is
the same.
